Maher Itani’s research interests are in political and security risk analysis, terrorism and transnational organised crime, and Middle East conflicts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Middle East politics, a Master of International Relations and a Juris Doctor with a major in international law.

Prior to joining the Centre Maher worked as an intelligence analyst and linguist for the NSW Crime Commission where he worked closely with State and Federal agencies on organised crime and counterterrorism.
